Free Internet Marketing Advice – The Hot Seat!

If you’ve ever been to some of the bigger internet marketing seminars you might have heard about something called ‘The Hot Seat’

Basically, it’s where you show the rest of the group your website. Maybe one you’re struggling with or that isn’t performing as well as you’d hoped, in order for the attending experts AND fellow marketers to give you some input and advice as to what you might do to improve your results.

It’s not harsh or brutal – it’s incredibly useful and the advice and input you get from both your peers and from more established marketers is invaluable.

So how do you fancy getting one going on my blog?

After the massive success of the Seven Day Accountability challenge a few weeks ago, we know know that we have a thriving and motivated Hippy Marketing Community so what do you think guys?

Shall we have a ‘Hot Seat’ feature some time next week?

If you fancy getting involved, or having your website placed under the microscope in the hot seat then post your details below, including your website URL and I’ll choose one.

You’ll get more traffic from it (because it’ll be mentioned on my blog) and trust me, the advice and feedback you get will give your business a MASSIVE boost. I’ve seen how well these things work.

Anyone can take part and submit their websites below. Don’t be embarassed – this is a community that HELPS each other.

It won’t get nasty because I will ban anyone who get vicious.

If you don’t have a website then please get involved giving your opinion and advice.

IMPORTANT: YOUR ADVICE AND INPUT IS NEEDED AND APPRECIATED NO MATTER WHAT LEVEL OF MARKETING YOU’RE AT.

So don’t feel that you have nothing to contribute – you absolutely do. If you wouldn’t buy a particular product that’s in the hot seat then tell the owner WHY NOT. Feedback like this is worth it’s weight in gold, so you don’t have to be at ANY level to participate ok?

If we get a big enough response we’ll run the first one next week, OK?

If you’re chosen to have your site in the hot seat, you’ll be expected to answer questions and comments in the comments section as we go.

If you submit your website to the hotseat please also include any relevant stats (if you wish) such as traffic, sales, conversion rates etc

Please leave your commments and website URL’s below.

  1. Hi Tony,

My site isnt doing very well, I’ve had about 328 ‘ looks’ but no sales etc.. I’m missing something but dont know what! 🙂 I would really like some input from people, even if it’s to tell me it’s crap lol.I’m going wrong somewhere.. maybe one of the reasons is because it’s on a blogger and not wordpress platform.

Many thanks for this Tony, much appreciated!

  2. No traffic to speak of yet (only just setting blog up).
Have a few affiliate links up, no conversions yet.

Happy to be in hot seat or to give opinion & advice (for what it’s worth!) on other’s sites.

    Great idea Tony!

  3. Okay, Tony, I’ll bite. I think it’s a great idea and I’m sure everyone can pick up some good actionable info from doing this.

Here are 2 of my sites that need some overhauling:
    http://peggybaron.com
    http://cookinkids.com

I would love it if you picked either one.

    Thanks,
    Peggy

  4. Hi Tony,
I think this is a great Idea.
My site is not quite ready but will be soon.

    Thanks man,

  5. Hi Tony,

Got your email “Fr-ee Internet Marketing advice – no strings.” the subject line caught my attention, so I came over to your blog.

    I’m glad I did.

I think it’s a great idea to get feed back from other marketer’s, be they veterans, intermediate or those new and just getting started.

I started my journey in IM in 2009 as a complete newbie, I didn’t even know what it meant to be in a niche, and that’s all everyone kept telling me I needed to do. FIND A NICHE.

My experiences have given me a heart toward newbies, thus my blog name>>> http://www.internetnewbieincome.com

I basically am, or would like to share my IM journey and try to help others along the way.

I would appreciate any feed back on my blog, I am still tweaking my tagline and offer on my blog. Have not posted in a while, shame on me, sad to say.

Much success to everyone who chooses to participate in this opportunity.

Hopefully we can help one another to get to the next level in our IM Journey.

    Thanks Tony.

  6. Hi Tony,

I have two sites that I would consider my main sites. Here is my site that just isn’t bringing in enough sales.

    http://buyplrtoday.com

My unique visitors for April was 1,208 and Number of Visits 2,862.

This site is where I am trying to brand myself and turn it more into an author/freelance writing type of book. I just published my first Kindle book and want to head in this direction too.

    http://suefleckenstein.com

The numbers for this site were 748 and visits 1,132

So feel free to pick one or the other apart!
    Thanks Tony

Thanks for the replies guys – I know it’s a bit of a weird one having your site analysed by all the crowd, but honestly its SUCH a valuable lesson. It’s all constructive and you don’t have to take it to heart.

I’ll be getting involved too so you’ll be getting serious value for money – it costs my personal clients $1,000 a month for this service 🙂

If you haven’t yet left a comment please do so. I reckon we need about 30 comments to have enough people to get this off the ground.

  9. How does everyone get their avatar/mug-shot to appear?
    Hope to learn something already!!

  10. This site was launched in January and I’m totally stuck!

    http://InspiredWorkingMoms.com

Also getting discouraged – hate to sounds so negative, I’m just confused about what to do next, how to increase traffic and how to build my list.

I think I’m also suffering from “information overload”, you know “do this!”….”No wait! Do that instead!”

Any feedback, comments, suggestions are VERY much appreciated.

    Thank you Tony!

  11. Hi

I’m not a pro by a long shot. But I recently started this one up, and hope to see it through.

Slowly starting to see some organic traffic, and doing a bit of Twittering on the side.

    http://www.howtodiet123.info/

For now, it’s just about adsense and a list. Back end (4 list) still has to be defined/developed. Products are a-plenty to choose from.

Considering simply doing posts around specific products from time to time, and just sending subscribers to it.

    Thanx

    Peter

    Great idea!
Don’t really have a site that’s ready to be picked apart right now, but I’m willing to chip in whatever I can 🙂

  13. Hi Tony,

Get this error when trying to subscribe to your feed:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below….

  14. What a brilliant idea…I,m game.

    My site is http://letslim.com/blog

Its been going a while and I have just made a Facebook page with the same name. Haven’t linked them yet but will be doing.

I am getting only about 600 hits a month and would love to know how to tweak it to get more.

Have experienced Hot Seats in US and got some brilliant advice so will be glad to give feedback to whoever is picked.

    Thanks Tony

    How Exciting is This!

I think this is a Fabulous idea Tony, I hope you get enough comments that you actually do this Hot Seat idea. I think this is something that everyone could benefit from, the site owners and the commenters as well.

    How refreshing

    Penny

  16. Great idea Tony I look forward to participating.

I’ve had this site a while now and I haven’t really cared for it as much as I should have because I have often been advised to stay away from this niche, IM. I am heavily involved in another passion niche but confess to secretly caring for this site. It has quite a few phrases ranking quite highly and has seemed to have escaped all of Google’s Pandas and Penguins. I have decided to invest some time in to it as I have a ton of content, ideas and monetisation opportunities for it. I am in the process of building a Facebook page for it.
I would love to have everyone’s views about it and how I should take it forward.

  17. Hi Tony,
My website at http://www.OwnTheBookofWealth.com has been up and running for about a year and a half or so. It brings in a few sales every month, but not nearly what I would like to get.

I know there’s more I could do to make it work better, but I really could use some guidance.

Hope you’ll consider it for a “Hot Seat” analysis.

    Thanks!

    John Cumbow
    http://www.OwnTheBookofWealth.com

p.s. I just recently discovered that a rival marketer has posted some negative propaganda about my site on a Facebook page selling a similar infoproduct. How do you counteract that?

  18. Hi guys … I’m typing this from my iPhone as I’m up at Mums with no Internet connection at the mo. (mum is 71 and can’t understand what all the fuss about the Internet is all about). ;0).. Yea this is a Kool idea Tony .. Many thanks. I’ll submit the URL when I get a chance to get on the net ;9)

    Cheers guys

  19. I have built my website with word press but it doesn’t look like other cake websites and I would love to showcase my work better so any advice would be great.

    Thanks 🙂

  20. Hi Tony

Fabulous idea you put ‘willing guinea pigs’ in the hot seat. I am up for this challenge.

My site http://www.EntrepreneurActionSteps.com is aimed a folk who want to start a business, any business, but don’t know where to start. The aim is to deliver workshop style events and 1:1 consultations.

I have set up my facebook account http://www.facebook.com/EnrepreneurActionSteps and twitter account #EntrepreneurAct.

Site has only had 37 unique visitors to it since launch.

I want to really give my visitors and potential clients value, albeit free giveaways or ‘paid for’ stuff.

Like one of your other contributors I am suffering from information overload and BS overload, there is a lot out there.

Really appreciate the value any one could add to my journey

    Kind regards, Lorraine

  23. Hi Tony

    Great idea!

This is my site – I know this needs a new video at the very least:

Look forward to contributing / commenting as well

  24. Hi

I’d love to be part of this and it’s a great idea.

Any comments on my website are very welcome.

In all honesty I don’t believe I get too many visitors and I’ve had one or two sales.

    Thanks.

    All the best

    Karen

  25. I would love to get opinions on my PLR site.

http://shopforplr.com I just recently revamped it a bit.

  26. Hi
I think that it’s a great idea. My site have been around for about 5 months. No sales yet.

    I would appreciate any comment.

  27. I decided that for once, I would adopt a “less is more” strategy.

However, this site needs visitors and I happily welcome all criticism!

Kind Regards, and best wishes to all budding entreprenuers
    out there!

  28. Ok ….

    http://www.auctionprofitavalanche.com/APA_WSO_Sales_page_5.html

I’ve just got this to this stage today … It’s basically a mockup of a WSO sales page .. but I may leave it up and change the page colour to white. I was going to do a sales vid for the Non WSO version ..

OK I know I need to finish the bullet points (which may be done by the time you read this) and add more testimonials .. but do you think it does the job for a first sales page ??

P.s… I am looking for testimonials so if anyone wants a review copy in exchange for a review or testimonial .. please let me know.

    cheers

  29. Hi Tony,

This sounds like a great idea. Watching a site being picked apart is easily one of the best educational experiences there is.

I’ve watched a couple of site reviews and learned a lot from them but have never been lucky enough to get my own site under the microscope.

My Site is http://internet-video-library.com and simply doesn’t get enough traffic.

    Comments would be most welcome.

    Nick
